How it works, step by step

  1. On Telegram Desktop right-click the voice message and choose "Save audio as…": you get an .ogg file. On the phone, long-press the message, forward it to Saved Messages and download it, or share it with "Save to Files".
  2. Open trascrivo.com, drop the .ogg file in the upload area and pick the language (or leave auto-detect on).
  3. Press Transcribe. In a few seconds you have timestamped text: copy it, download it as TXT or export SRT.

The .ogg format works without converting

Telegram stores voice notes as .ogg (Opus codec), the same as WhatsApp. TraScrivo reads it directly: no conversion to mp3, no app to install. Round video messages work too once you export them as mp4.

Long voice notes, groups and channels

There is no length limit: an hour-long voice note is split automatically and transcribed in full. If you need to transcribe many notes from a group, save them one by one with clear names (date and sender): the timestamps then take you to the exact spot.
